Spring Clay Gathering – A Nurturing Creative Experience
Join us for a heart-opening Spring Clay Gathering, a special seasonal event designed to reconnect you with nature, creativity, and the beauty of letting go. Set in a serene, nurturing environment, this intimate workshop is centered around clay, mindfulness and the natural world, providing a space to pause, reflect, and create in harmony with the earth.
On Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, we’ll embark on a creative journey starting with a bush walk to a nearby river, where we’ll hold a non-attachment, letting-go ceremony, honouring the renewal that spring brings. Using wild clay and natural slips, you’ll be guided in exploring wild clay processing and hand-building your own vessel, shaping it with intention and care. This tactile, meditative process allows for connection to the land and to yourself, deepening your relationship with the natural world through clay.
The day will look a little like this.
9:30am Gather at Pammy’s home studio in Roleystone. Introductions and chai will be on offer.
10:00am Drive down together to the river where we will gather some wild clay and take time to immerse ourselves in nature with some breath work, mindfulness and a letting go ceremony to help us connect back to the land and ourselves.
11:00am Gather back in the studio for morning tea and chai along with a brief introduction to wild clay processing, hand building techniques and how to create with no attachment, in the present moment.
11;45am we play with clay and mud, creating and connecting nature and ceramics together.
feel free to break for lunch in the garden.
1:30pm Finish up and say our good byes. You will be given a date when you can come and collect your glazed and fired creation.
With only 6 places available, this one-off seasonal gathering is designed to be intimate and personal, offering you the time and space to fully immerse yourself in the experience. You’ll also enjoy a small, nourishing vegetarian morning tea and warming chai. Please feel free to bring your own lunch if you’d like to extend your time in the garden afterwards. The second half of the workshop will take place in my home studio in Roleystone.
